Dr. Rachel Vandermyde graduated from the University of Illinois in the spring of 2019 and started working with us in June of the same year. We are thrilled to have her on our team with the compassionate care she shows for each patient, her strong work ethic, and her amazingly stylish scrub caps!
Dr. Vandermyde has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a child and feels that following her dream to achieve her goal of practicing veterinary medicine and saving the lives of animals is her biggest accomplishment to date. One of the experiences that has touched her most in her career thusfar happened during vet school when she was able to nurse a dog back to health and help him walk again after being hit by a truck. It is these sudden moments that have led Dr. Vandermyde to believe that every moment we have with our pets is precious, and we should cherish all the time we get to spend with them.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Vandermyde’s interests include art, ethics, and forensics, and she loves anything made with peanut butter or chocolate!
