What Exactly is the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)?
The American Animal Hospital Association is the only accrediting organization for animal hospitals in the entire US, and accreditation itself is a voluntary pursuit – only about 15% of practices have been able to achieve accreditation thus far.
AAHA was established in 1933 by leaders in the veterinary profession who believed there needed to be an ultimate standard in veterinary medicine. That mission endures today, with AAHA experts working together to improve standards of care, train animal hospital teams, and educate pet owners. All of this is done to elevate veterinary care across the board and ensure better experiences for pets and people.
How We Maintain Our Accreditation
Coyne Veterinary Center complies with more than 900 AAHA standards and guidelines. To keep our accreditation, our hospital is evaluated every few years by AAHA inspectors to make sure we continue to uphold their standards. This is a major team effort, and it demonstrates our collective commitment to caring for your pet and you to the best of our ability.
