Melissa L.

Head Veterinary Technician, RVT

Biography

I knew I wanted to work with and help animals since I was young, especially when I saw first-hand a medical emergency with my own pet. When I was around 12, my rescue greyhound broke her leg playing in the backyard. Naturally, my first instinct was to help my dad bring her to our veterinarian and tend to her during her recovery.

Do you currently have any pets? What are their names and what is your favorite thing about them?
I have an Alaskan Malamute/German shepherd mix named Laika and a short little cat I adopted from work named Wednesday. No matter what happens, I can always count on them to be goofy and make me smile.
What do you find most rewarding about working with animals?
The most rewarding part of working with animals is the fact you get to help an innocent creature who truly is grateful and appreciates you.
