How It Works

Our CT imaging equipment combines multiple X-ray images of your pet, all of which are taken from a different angle around the body. Each individual image (or slice) represents a cross-section of the affected area. When combined, the images create a detailed picture of your pet’s bones and soft tissues.

In addition, we have the capability to perform fluoroscopy, which is radiology in motion, in order to detect esophageal or tracheal disorders. This enhanced imaging technique provides us with more information about our patients to help guide us in developing the best treatment plans going forward.

What Can CT Scan be Used for?

CT scans are not limited to the abdomen and thorax (chest cavity).
We also commonly use it for:

  • Full mouth digital dental imaging
  • Skull issues
  • Orthopedic issues
  • Sinus evaluations
  • Middle or inner ear problems
  • Ectopic ureters
  • Portosystemic shunts
  • Cancer evaluations of the chest and abdomen
